Christie Shorter

Since joining Capitol Settlements at its inception in October 2007, Christie Shorter has been a cornerstone of the team, bringing over 25 years of experience and unmatched expertise to her role as Funding Manager and Post-Closer. In addition to ensuring every settlement is finalized with precision, Christie oversees all office accounting and compliance, serving as both our accounting and best practices Director.

Her responsibilities span the entire post-closing process, including escrow disbursements, settlement accounting, title policies, lender packages, and file reconciliation. She carefully balances each transaction in accordance with lender instructions, manages document recordings, and ensures title policies and endorsements are delivered promptly. Christie’s meticulous attention to detail and deep understanding of the real estate settlement process— from pre-closing to post-closing—make her an invaluable leader within Capitol Settlements.

Outside of work, Christie is the heart of her extended family, proudly serving as the matriarch and caring for those around her. Her favorite way to unwind is by spending time at the beach, where she finds true relaxation.
